Senate Inquiry into Transport

Road transport is Australia’s deadliest industry, marked by high numbers of deaths and injuries, chronic wage underpayment and exploitation. This is an industry in crisis that is crying out for change.

Senator Glenn Sterle, a former truckie, is leading the charge in Federal Government to call for industry reform. Following two forums in Canberra with truck drivers, the TWU, employer associations, operators and retailers, the Senate has approved an inquiry into trucking. This is our opportunity to demand that the government acts to improve safety and fairness in transport.

It is vital that transport workers’ voices are heard.
