    “Safe rates” for truck drivers will be introduced by the Gillard government in what could have implications for road transport reliant users such as Coles and Woolworths. The extent of the regulation on logistics chains is yet to be revealed but key features announced to Transport Workers Union delegates by Transport Minister Anthony Albanese include that a specialist tribunal or Fair Work Australia to set pay rates and conditions for drivers.
