QANTAS WORKERS WIN: OUTSOURCING RULED ILLEGAL.
WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

Congratulations to the 2000 Qantas and QGS workers who have achieved a massive win in the Federal Court. Qantas was found to have illegally outsourced workers to prevent them exercising their industrial rights. The case followed a huge campaign by TWU members to hold Qantas to account for its appalling actions.

The Federal Court case involved considerable cost, time and effort and the TWU wishes to thank those members who have stuck by us during this difficult time.

Next steps for QAL & QGS workers

We are preparing for the Court to decide what happens now. Options the court may consider are for reinstatement to your previous position and/or compensation for lost earnings (for both QAL and QGS). To ensure that your voice is heard in this process, join the union or become financial! If you are a member, please encourage your workmates to join.

It is likely you will be contacted to discuss your preferences. Please use the form on this page to ensure we have your accurate contact details. Even if you’re not a member, please provide your details if you want more information.

The TWU has a strict privacy policy and will never share your contact details without your permission.
