TWU Federal Assistant Secretary Wade Noonan has been pre selected for Steve Bracks’ former seat of Williamstown.
Wade has worked as an official for the TWU since 2002. During Wade’s time at the union he has been instrumental in building membership nationwide and co-coordinating national strategic campaigns which have involved all state branches.
Wade is not only a member of the Federal Committee of Management, a board member of the Transport Analytic Skills Council, a director of TWU’s Super fund but also a TWU representative on the ACTU Executive.
The commitment and dedication that Wade has given for so many years fighting for Transport workers and their families will not stop with his pre selection. Wade will undoubtedly continue this fight in parliament and will now be able to assist Transport workers in a new capacity.
As a local candidate Wade brings a wealth of local knowledge to the table being the third generation in his family to live in the area. Wade and his wife Julie have two sons, William 2, and eight week old Henry.
Wade has taken leave from the union to campaign in the lead up to the Williamstown bi-election.
We wish Wade the best of luck in the upcoming bi-election which will occur on September 15.
