Work Choices: One year on.

Rudd and Gillard meet with TWU members to discuss the new workplace laws

Kevin Rudd and Julia Gillard meet TWU members

The Howard Government's own statistics on AWAs show:

* 100 per cent of all agreements took away at least one protected Award condition;
* 63 per cent of all agreements removed penalty rates;
* 52 per cent removed shiftwork loading; and
* 46 per cent cut public holiday payments.

Since releasing this data in May 2006, the Howard Government has covered up all further AWA statistics.

Under repeated questioning in Federal Parliament yesterday, Minister for Employment and Workplace Relations, Joe Hockey refused to release any more information on AWAs and their impact on working families.

At the last Federal election in 2004, the Liberals did not tell the Australian community what their true plans for industrial relations were.

The Howard Government is not telling the Australian community the truth about the impact of their unfair industrial relations laws.

Prime Minister John Howard must now answer a key question: How much further is he going to take his unfair industrial relations laws?
