The Australian aviation industry deserves a real future, with safe and secure employment, integrity and a clear path for Australian-based airlines to again be recognized as the safest in the world. That’s according to Tony Sheldon, National Secretary of the Transport Workers Union (TWU).
Truckies from the Transport Workers’ Union (TWU), together with their families, held a number of protests at Coles’ stores across Australia today (10.5.12) to highlight the giant retailer’s responsibility for the lethal pressures in the trucking industry and across the entire supply chain.
The closure of national trucking company 1stFleet is a tragedy for the workforce and highlights yet again how major retailers are squeezing the life out of Australian truckies and suppliers according to Tony Sheldon, National Secretary of the Transport Workers’ Union.
