    Two Die In WA Truck Crashes As Federal Government Opposes Solution On Road Safety

    Two truck drivers have died in separate truck crashes in Western Australia highlighting the need for a solution to the crisis in trucking. A 39-year-old driver was killed when his truck rolled over on the Eyre Peninsula yesterday. Another driver died when his truck caught fire following a crash on Great Eastern Highway near Northam on Tuesday.

    Deaths And Police Blitz Show Crisis On The Roads As Federal Government Dithers

    The Transport Workers’ Union is urgently demanding the Federal Government meet all representatives of the transport industry to find a solution to the crisis on the roads. The call comes as another person died in a truck crash while a police blitz in NSW found over 1600 defects in trucks and hundreds of drivers in breach of rules on fatigue, securing their load and drug use.
