Fighting for your rights and conditions at work.
The announcement of the $6.4 billion merger of TNT Express with United Parcel Services (UPS) will create one of Australia's largest transportation and logistics companies, with thousands of employees across the country. The TWU has been working on behalf of employees at both companies for many years to get the best possible wages, conditions and job security.
The TWU reached a three-year agreement for TNT employees in 2011. This agreement won real job security for TNT workers, locked in nine month casual conversion provision, and sought the commitment from management that the company will employ permanent full-time workers before casuals, labour hire or outside-hire employees.
The TWU has been negotiating with UPS management for a new EBA since late 2011 and we remain committed to securing the best workplace agreement for staff at UPS and to ensure they are not put out as a result of the merger.

The Transport Workers Union works on behalf of TNT members in yards across Australia. Our delegates have successfully negotiated several EBAs with management. We have stood with TNT workers during disputes with management. We are in ongoing negotiations with senior management at TNT and UPS to ensure the proposed merger does not impact on the pay, conditions ad job security of all TNT workers.

Despite close to 1500 TNT workers going on a national strike, TNT management still refuses to take our claim seriously.
We admire the courage and conviction of those 1,500 workers who know that TNT will not budge unless we let them know we are united over our fight for better workplace conditions.
