  • Cabin Crew Vow to Support Qantas Comrades

    Representatives of ITF-affiliated cabin crew unions meeting in London today pledged their support for their Qantas colleagues, who are facing unparalleled job cuts. They acted in response to Qantas CEO Alan Joyce’s plans to sack 5,000 staff, resolving to extend solidarity support and to carry the message back to their unions that the cuts must be fought.

    On the 30 March 2014 hundreds of TWU members and supporters were joined in Tempe, NSW by ALP Deputy Leader Tanya Plibersek and Queensland's Bob Katter to rally in support of safe, secure work for Australian aviation workers.

  • International support for Aviation Workers

    In a display of solidarity with Australian aviation workers, international aviation unions led by Ver.di Hamburg have stood in support of the TWU's fight for safe and secure aviation jobs.

    At the Ver.di "Internationale Flughafenkonferenz" in mid-March 2014, German, Dutch, Swedish and American unions met to discuss organinsing in modern avaition workplaces.

    The picture below was taken after TWU Australia representative Matthew Rocks presented to the conference on the specific challenges facing Australian aviation workers.
