AUSTRALIA DESERVES A SAFE AND SECURE AVIATION INDUSTRY

For more than 100 years the Australian aviation industry has made us proud, safeguarded our national interest, and provided safe and secure jobs for generations of Australians.

Despite our proud aviation history and enviable safety record, the industry is threatened as never before by the agenda of militant, senior management, most notably at Qantas. They are determined to undercut their own workforce with outsourced insecure jobs and reduce the standards of safety and service, which the Australian travelling public deserve and expect.

Aviation workers and their families have refused to take these threats lying down. Over the past year, tens of thousands of union members across Australia’s aviation industry have united to fight for secure jobs with fair wages and conditions, safer Australian skies and a real future for Australian aviation industry which future generations continue to be proud of.

Shareholder Anger at AGM Highlights Need for Qantas Management to Take ‘High Road’

Widespread anger from Qantas shareholders and employees at today’s Qantas AGM highlights the need for the Qantas Board of Directors to change course from the ‘low road’ policies of existing senior management, and start making the right decisions to ensure an safe and secure Australian future for Qantas and Qantas jobs. That’s according to senior Transport Workers’ Union (TWU) official Klaus Pinkas.

500 More Qantas Workers Pay The Price for Bad Management

Another 500 workers at Qantas will pay the price for the disastrous management at the company, who must now come clean on how they intend to grow the company while sacking workers and turning Qantas into a little more than a virtual airline.
