The TWU recently took Bunker Freightlines to Fair Work Australia over the unfair treatment of a Victorian Delegate.

This member was stood down without pay and was being forced to pay for training before he commenced work again.

Fair Work Australia deemed Bunker discipline procedures to be unlawful and told Kathy Williams that her behaviour was not in conjunction with the discipline procedures in the current workplace agreement.

As a result:
➤     Bunkers are no longer able to withdraw work from drivers as a form of discipline
➤    Bunkers can not force drivers to pay for work based training
➤     Any driver who has had work taken away from them during disputes is entitled to full, immediate reinstatement
➤     Bunkers must follow the disputes procedure negotiated by the TWU

This is a huge win for Bunker drivers as Kathy Williams now knows she must treat everyone fairly, even if there is a dispute in the workplace.

If you have any issues or problems with your work at Bunker, contact your local organiser. The TWU are here for you.
