At a further meeting between your TWU representatives and Virgin Blue management on Monday, discussions were again held to try to reach agreement on an acceptable proposal for all staff to consider as soon as possible.

Whilst minor changes to the draft agreement were agreed, unfortunately Virgin Blue management again indicated they were not in a position to increase their previous offer of a 1.5% up front payment along with 2.5%, 3% and 3% wage increases over a three year agreement.

Despite a willingness from your TWU to consider alternative ways of structuring the company’s offer, Virgin Blue indicated that it would not be prepared to agree to any proposal that increased costs to the business.

As a result, your TWU representatives from across the country unanimously indicated that they would not be in a position to support the agreement and resolved that the proposed agreement should be finalised and put out for all staff to consider and vote upon.

It is now time for you to have your say.

The proposed agreement will be available for all staff to consider from the 9th of February and voting on the agreement shall commence Wednesday 17th of February and conclude Sunday February 21st.

Contact your local TWU representatives for more information or assistance.
